When I place a card on the card reader, the PC appears to be trying to install a driver. What is it?
Windows has an automatic "Plug and Play" system enabled which is conflicting with our tool and trying to install a driver for the actual physical card. This can cause problems as Windows can overwrite the logs on the cards.
To disable this:
For Windows 10 users:
See the attached file and below...
In Windows Hit the start button – and in the search field at the bottom of the start menu type in gpedit.msc. Or open a Run command prompt and enter gpedit.msc and hit enter.
Under "Computer Configuration", please click "Administrative Templates".
Click "Windows Components" and choose "Smart Card"
You need to disable ALL the settings in this folder. Setting to "Not Configured" will not solve the issue.
Double click on the first setting (usually allow certificates...), Select Disabled and click on Next Setting. Keep doing this until you have Disabled all of the options.
Once complete you will have to restart the PC/Laptop.
Then please try running a test again.
